A1 ～がほしいです

Meaning：

• This sentence pattern is used when the speaker wants something.
• Use the particle“が”for the object.
• “ほしい”is an い-adjective.

How to use：

[Noun] がほしいです

Example：

• 新あたらしいかばんが欲ほしいです。- I want a new bag.
• 自転車じてんしゃが欲ほしいですか。…はい、欲しいです。／いいえ、欲しくないです。- Do you want a bicycle? … Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
• 誕生日たんじょうびに何なにが欲しいですか。…iPhoneが欲しいです。- What do you want for your birthday? … I want an iPhone.

A2・3 ～たいです／～たくないです

Meaning：

• This sentence pattern is used when the speaker wants to do something.
• As in the example sentence, the particle“を”can be replaced with“が”.

How to use：

[ます-form] たいです／たくないです

Example：

• 水みずが飲のみたいです。- I want to drink water.
• オーストラリアへ行いきたいです。- I want to go to Australia.
• すしを食たべたいですか。…はい、食べたいです。／いいえ、食べたくないです。- Do you want to eat sushi? … Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
• 日曜日にちようびは何なにをしたいですか。…公園こうえんへ行いきたいです。- What do you want to do on Sunday? … I want to go to the park.

なにか／どこか

Meaning：

• “どこか”means“somewhere”or“anywhere”.
• “なにか”means“something”or“anything”.

Example：

• 喉が渇のど　　かわきましたね。…そうですね。何なにか飲のみたいですね。- I’m thirsty, aren’t I? … Yes, we are. I want to drink something.
• 休やすみはどこか行いきましたか。…はい、沖縄おきなわへ行いきました。- Did you go anywhere during the break? … Yes, I went to Okinawa.

A4 ～へ～にいきます

Meaning：

• This expression shows the purpose of going to a place.

How to use：

[Noun(place)] へ［ます-form / Noun］に　いきます／きます／かえります

Example：

• 友達ともだちのうちへ遊あそびに行いきます。- I’m going to my friend’s house to hang out.
• デパートへ買かい物ものに行きます。- I’m going to the department store to go shopping.
• 日本にほんへ何なにをしに行きますか。…友達ともだちに会あいに行きます。- What are you going to Japan to do? … I’m going to meet a friend.
• 彼かれはうちへゲームをしに来きます。- He is coming to my house to play games.
• うちへ昼ご飯ひる　　はんを食たべに帰かえります。- I’m going back home to eat lunch.
