[補足]
話し言葉では「もんか／もんですか」が使われる。
例文
- こんなサービスが悪い店、二度と来るもんか。
I will never come back to a place with such bad service.
- 彼に負けるもんか。
I will never lose to him.
- そんなこと、誰が信じるものか。
No one would ever believe such a thing.
- そんな簡単に諦めるものか。
I would never give up so easily.
- あんなに不親切な人と友達になるものか。
I would never become friends with such an unfriendly person.
- そんな人と結婚するもんか。
I would never marry such a person.
- その意見に誰が賛成するものですか。
No one would ever agree with that opinion.
- A：東京はきれいですね。 B：きれいなもんですか。ネズミがたくさんいますよ。
A: Tokyo is clean, isn’t it? B: Beautiful? Not at all. There are so many rats.
- A：いい会社ですね。 B：いい会社なもんですか。毎日残業でした。
A: It’s a good company, isn’t it? B: A good company? Not at all. I had to work overtime every day.
- A：その仕事、楽そうだね。 B：楽なもんか。休む暇もないぐらい忙しいです。
A: That job looks easy. B: Easy? Not at all. It’s so busy that I don’t even have time to rest.
- 俺の気持ちがお前にわかるもんか。
You will never know how I feel.
- 二度とこんな悔しい気持ちになるものか。
I will never feel this frustrating again.
- 負けるもんか。絶対に勝つ。
I will never lose. I will definitely win.
- 絶対に許すものか。
I will never forgive you.
- 宝くじなんて当たるもんか。働け。
You’ll never win the lottery. Go work.
